Since 1955, Columbus has established sister city relationships with ten cities worldwide, including Genoa, Italy; Tainan, Taiwan; and Accra, Ghana. The Ohio State University (OSU) plays a pivotal role in preparing students for the global stage. Established in 1943, OSU’s International Studies program offers interdisciplinary majors and minors focusing on world regions and contemporary global themes. Students can specialize in areas such as development studies, international relations, and security and intelligence, equipping them with the skills to navigate complex international landscapes.
Capital University also contributes to this global focus through its World Languages and Cultures program. Offering majors and minors in French, Spanish, and International Studies, the program emphasizes language proficiency and cultural competence. Students have opportunities for study abroad experiences in countries like France, Spain, and Mexico, further enhancing their global awareness.

OSU’s Office of International Affairs supports a range of activities, including study abroad programs, international student services, and global partnerships.
